Don't call it faux fur: That long coat with well-calibrated lapels; that high-necked cape with an asymmetrical closure; That jacket flared just right. It's true, in appearance they resemble fur, but they weren't designed to mimic it. Today we expect fashion to be above all authentic, a true reflection of the times, expressed through style. I don't know about you, but I'm mostly looking for thrills.
In search of excitement
Plush effect
It's how we refer to fabrics that stimulate our sense of touch. Every detail matters, without quality and care, the feeling falls flat. It might warm your bones, but it won’t touch your heart. Warmth goes without saying. These materials naturally retain body heat while their breathability keeps air flowing, striking the perfect balance between comfort and insulation. But there's more to it. It's also about that subtle, often unspoken longing to slip back, even briefly, into the comfort of childhood.
I don’t have a clear memory of my mother’s hugs, it’s more of a feeling, deep in my gut rather than my mind. A sense of how wonderful it was to let go in her arms, to hear the calm rhythm of her breathing, and to catch that clean, peaceful scent her skin carried when it met mine.
Nowadays, we’re all a bit clumsy with emotions
Caught between fearing we might overstep someone’s boundaries and craving the warmth of being embraced ourselves. We want it, but it also leaves us feeling a little awkward.
With fluffy fabrics, we instantly rediscover the kindness of a hug. On a grey, windy Wednesday, you can imagine the private joy of slipping into an ultra-soft jacket. Maybe you'll even find one with a hood and then bye-bye, you can pull it over your head and shut out all the troubles of the world for a while.
