The charming imperfection of linen

Girls, get real, you don’t want to give up linen "because it creases" do you?

Linen = Summer, together they make a strong couple, they seek each other out, understand and complement one other, because when the heat ramps up, linen gives its best.

It’s 100% natural, absorbs moisture, lets the skin breathe and doesn't cause irritation. Hypoallergenic and antibacterial, it even filters UVA rays, and you're worried about the creases? Not to mention that its charm lies in its splendid imperfection, just like each one of us.

The beauty of linen is that it’s both chic and laid back at the same time. Ultimately it's a metaphor for life: it doesn’t promise perfection, but if you love it for what it is, it will make you happy (I don't know about you, but for some time now I've decided to apply this philosophy especially to myself and it works very well).

Now that we’ve cleared the field of prejudices, let's have fun wearing it, whether it's a stylish sleeveless shirt dress, a tunic with deep side slits buttoned up when required, or a pair of trousers with a side band embroidered with small geometric perforations.

Linen is a fabulous friend, wherever you go, whatever your daily commitments, it adapts to you. Do you want it business-oriented? You’ll feel confident in the double-breasted trouser suit, silk top and high heels. Is your best friend getting married by the sea and you're the witness? An olive green dress, enhanced by oversize gold earrings, flared to perfection so it twirls with you when the DJ arrives and it’s time to start dancing. Or a flared skirt with a maxi floral print matched with wedge sandals and a sensual, semi-sheer crepe georgette shirt with a pussy bow. I could go on, but I'm sure each of us has our own way of interpreting linen, and what I'd really like to know is how you wear it.

Regardless of the outfit, please don’t force yourself to remain standing to avoid ruining its freshness, and if you really are an incurable Miss Impeccable, concentrate instead on taking care of it. Linen that is washed, dried and ironed correctly will be much less likely to let you down.

Do you still have doubts? Don't panic, there is washed linen, treated with natural softeners that make it more elastic, or linen mixed with cotton or silk. Let go and be carefree in your enjoyment of linen, it’s as liberating as the sea breeze when it ruffles your hair.
